Day 3 - 12 Apr 08
Day 3 was to be spent visiting places in Kaoshiung itself.Places visited include:
1) Lotus lake
Guess wat, we managed to see how the bottom of the lake looks like!
So disappointing... No lake for us to enjoy the cooling breeze as it was under reconstruction to make it deeper and more suitable for water sports. *Sobz*
Visited the temples and pagodas nearby instead.
2) Army market near the lotus lake
Huiyi suggested going to this street selling army stuff as she needs to get some t-shirt for her fren and it was supposed to have some shops ard there for us to shop.
So we set off after asking for directions from the pretty girl & frenly auntie at the lotus lake souvenir/food shops.
There weren't much shops open at this time of the day, but we found a shop with cheap cheap sports wear (puma, adidas, asics, etc.) where we spent quite some time looking, and huiyi made her purchase of two tops!
We had this 杨桃汤 nearby also, which is very nice n appetizing. (Forgot to take pic)
3) Xinzhueijiang
Lunch was some rice pizza (instead of rice burgers) at a pizza shop.
Its a couple of shopping streets consisting of roadside stores. Not a very big scale one though.
And we spotted the Doraemon shop! All filled with Doraemons!! You can refer to each of them by their 编号.
An island off Kaoshiung Harbour, with a 5 mins ferry ride costing NT$10. Interesting ride as scooters are also allowed on board.
Pics of Lh being up to no good =P
First spectacular view on the island --> the sand is grey color!!! Woot~ And we spotted a fake boy towing a real boy ard! Manifestation of human slavery? haha..
Second spectacular view on the island --> Wow there's a nice tunnel with luminous horoscope signs illustrated at the ceiling. Along the tunnel there are many notes scribbled to ask you to clap your hands to hear birds chirping. We tried and birds did chirped. But lh cant help but wonder whether birds will still chirp if you dun clap your hands. (Were we tricked? If we were, so did many others too.. =P)
Third spectatcular view can be seen after we climbed up the top of the fortress situated on a hill on the island. Tiring walk to go up but we can see the whole island from up here! Abit creepy as we stayed at the fortress till after the sun goes down. Wonder how many souls had their final resting place here. Oops.
5) Love River
Had a walk here after having dinner at Cijin Island. This river is situated near our hotel, so we simply alighted much earlier from the bus and strolled our way back. It is a Saturday nite and the riverside is pretty much livelier. They had this 'pasar malam' on as there is a family day event held there. And along the way there were dance or sing song performances. Lh enjoyed the stroll pretty much. Relaxing and enriching.
We even went into this theatre museum and enjoyed ourselves with their high-tech gimmicks.
Lh as captain pirate~
Wee.. Lh sees herself flying in the tv~
And we're in snowland~
After reaching our hotel, we washed up and pack our bags, ready to leave at 6am (skipping the buffet breakfast w/o scrambled eggs) the nxt morning to go Chiayi to meet Goofy and gang.
