Day 5 - 14 Apr 08

Its a tiring and long day today.
The most memorable sight today is.. NOT the sunrise, but the Stars.

Washed up and met up with our driver cum tour guide for the sunrise at 4am. Its a slow drive up Yushan to catch the sunrise and everyone is sleepy headed. Luckily the guide is quite humourous and told us stories abt encounters with black bears with iron claws to 'reap' open ppl's flesh causing death due to loss of blood. (feeling gross? =P) And he told us of the new version of the Alishan song, so amusing, but I forgot the lyrics. Hee..

Reached an opening and we stopped by for star gazing at pre-dawn. Stepped out of the vehicle and Lh was stunned by the magical view. So clear, so blur, so magic. I hope I'll never forget it. No attempt to take any picture of the magical sight, just pure enjoyment looking at it the whole time. Dun wanna waste time taking photo of something that cant be expressed with photo. The guide to explain the stars was also very interesting, with his laser pointer. So cool. The line connects from his pointer to the stars! And he pointed out a moving satellite too. And pointed out the Libra constellation for Lh to remember. =)

There after we proceed to the sunrise viewing point. The sunrise wasn't as splendid as Lh imagined it to be.

Then we proceed to the 夫妻树. The tree with more branches is the wife and the other one is the husband of coz. The guide told us that ppl hoping to meet their prospective other half can go touch the trees. Guys touch the 'wife' tree and girls touch the 'husband' tree. But better touch once only if you dun wan second marriage. If touch three times then both the first and the second wld leave u (coz too greedy? haha)

Well, some touched the trees some din. Wun be leaking in on their secrets here. =P

Our driver cum guide helped us take this dangerous shot by asking us to stand at some dangerous place. But quite nice la.. Worth the risk. =) "Stepping on the 云海"

After the field trip, we stopped over at 'Seven' to grab breakfast and went back to hotel to pack our bags, to set off for hualien at 9am. During the sunrise trip bargaining, we asked if they provide transport to take us to Hualien and how much it will cost. The 许小姐 offered us NT$10,000 for booking the whole bus for the day. Sounds reasonable hence we took up the offer. And was glad that we did. The ride was simply exhilarating. And of coz dangerous. Not a second time in this life i tink. At least not via the same route. *Wink*

We passed by the Sun Moon Lake and stopped over there for lunch. The mini-bus took us climbing up and down the mountains, among the mist/fog, through the clouds. So nice. Here are some photos we took at stopovers.

After we reach Hualien, the driver and his wife (the couple who took us there) was bickering over the route to go Stone's house. And kept complaining that they were bad hosts, coz no come out to fetch us to the house. So cute their arguments.
Dinner was at some 排骨面 stall. Quite nice. Followed by some boring after dinner entertainment dance program that Lh dun like. For some reason her stomach not feeling well and she was in super off mode.

After dinner, back at the Stone's house after some resting, we get to play with 孔明灯. Write your wishes on the 灯 then light the joss paper and the 灯 will carry your wishes to the sky after the air in the balloon gets hot enuff. Just like mini hot air balloon. Not to mention some stupid cat tried to disturb my 灯. *气*
